Balloon fold

MSI's revolutionary folding methods and equipment are used to manufacture most of the approved balloon catheters on the market today. The patented Wavepleat™ design reduces cycle time and minimizes fold diameter by optimizing the curvature of the balloon material. Equipped with automated machines to maximize throughput or handle drug-eluting balloons. All of our equipment uses best-in-class materials, ensuring quality control and reproducible results through data capture and web capabilities.

Drug-coated balloon folds

MSI's Drug Eluting Balloon Pleating and Folding Device is the industry's first and only system specifically designed to handle DEB/DCB products. The FFS1075S extends industry-proven balloon folding technology with the addition of an integrated PTFE membrane that protects the balloon coating from damage and eliminates the potential for cross-contamination that can occur with traditional folding/folding methods.

Vertical Balloon Forming

The vertical orientation provides a small footprint for optimal utilization of production floor space during balloon molding. Customers can start with a single machine and then increase the machine capacity as needed. The machine is equipped with PLC control, PC with touch screen and BW-TEC HMI. All process parameters for individual products can be stored in individual recipes.

Automated catheter manufacturing workstation

"Workcell" is an automated platform designed to improve the quality, speed and cost of multiple balloon catheter and stent delivery production processes. The conduits are oriented vertically to significantly reduce the required footprint. It is estimated that the standard configuration of these machines will require more than 25 linear meters of manufacturing space. Workcell can compress all these processes into a 2 square meter machine.

Marker band swaging with automatic positioning

MSI's automatic marking tape swaging equipment automatically positions and swages marking tapes within tight manufacturing tolerances. For high volume PTCA and PTA length product manufacturing, pick and place loading options allow

For continuous automated processing. Profile-driven swaging machines include an integrated PLC control system with a touchscreen interface for easy process development and quick product changeovers.

Protect the thermal catheter balloon

The Beahm Balloon Bonder 520-B utilizes the proven split-molding technique as the system protects the heat sensitive catheter balloon during the welding and bonding process by encapsulating the balloon in a pneumatic cavity immediately adjacent to the weld area. The device further enhances protection as the die is retracted during assembly and unloading. The 520-B Balloon Bonder is also ideal for protecting heat-sensitive materials such as electrical components and coils in non-balloon catheters.
